Corps Command welcomes its 30th year as a Napoleonic rules system. First introduced in the San Francisco Bay Area in 1989, it quickly became a favorite among the Napoleonic players in the area. One of the first to introduce the 2x2 figure basing now commonplace in rules like Napoleon's Battles and Age of Eagles, Corps Command began as a reaction to the lack of rules that embraced fast-paced gaming elements with traditional Napoleonics rules.
"At the time when I designed the core rules, it was either Empire III, The Complete Brigadier, or CLS that was being played in our local area. I enjoyed the Empire series, but others did not like the 'simulation' aspect and the slow nature of a game," stated Manny Granillo, lead designer at HR Games. "I worked out a game system that incorporated all of the aspects that gamers want in a fast-playing system, but keeping the detail in to maintain the flavor of playing Napoleonics."
Since being released in 1989, the rules have been played all over the world, and it continues to grow as more and more scenarios become available. The 30th Anniversary of the rules will allow us to run a special offer on our webstore. Watch for further announcements!
