OK, I didn't think I was going to get the photos for these done tonight, but I managed it - so here's the 15mm teasers promised in my last news post.....

First up, the armed spacesuited crew figures that everyone has been waiting for! 2 packs coming - one of 6 figures (2 each of three poses) in heavy EVA suits, and one of 8 figures (a mix from 5 poses) in lightweight skinsuits.

They are carrying a mixture of assault rifle/autoshotgun-type weapons and small machine-pistol types, but of course they can count as anything you want - low-velocity boarding weapons, lasers, whatever. These packs will be the usual £2.50 GBP each.

Then, a project that I've been working on for a couple of weeks now but didn't want to mention until it was actually cast and ready (mainly in case it didn't work out right...) - the AV-12 "Mantis" VTOL Gunship! This is an all-metal kit, in 16 parts including retractable undercarriage that you can pose up or down, and two alternative ball turret chin-guns (tri-barrel and plasma cannon). In addition to its chin weapon, the Mantis carries 18 hypervelocity missiles in a pair of 9-round pods. The two lift engines can be posed in level flight or full hover mode, or anywhere in-between. While the multitude of bits looks formidable at first sight, the display ones (assembled from first-off castings out of the master mould) actually took me less than 20 minutes each to assemble (using superglue and accelerator), including clean-up of the castings. Everything fits and works just as I'd planned it, and I'm really pleased with the end result - hopefully some of you will be too.....

For the record, the assembled Mantis is about 90mm nose-to-tail, not including the chin-gun barrel; the overall width across the swiveling engines is about 56mm. We not sure on the final price yet, but it's likely to be in the region of £11.00 GBP for one model, with a three-ship flight at a discounted price of £30.00 GBP.
The flight stand shown is not included in the kit; the one in the pics was made from one of our small grav vehicle stands (V15-ACC7) glued onto a commercially-available large (50 x 65mm) plastic base, with a length of brass rod firmly anchored into the collar in the stand base. A dab of Basetex to hide everything, and it's almost ready for the table; it's plenty stable enough for gaming use, and you could probably go a good couple of inches higher on the rod without compromising stability if you wanted more altitude!

Though it's designed as a two-man craft in 15mm (two crew in tandem seats under the large sloping canopy), you could probably get away with using it as a small attack craft in 25mm as well - the cockpit module is certainly big enough to envisage a single 25mm pilot in there. I'm also considering converting the cockpit unit to make it into an unmanned craft, as either an AI or remotely piloted vehicle - this would do well for both 15mm and 25/28mm, would anyone like to see that variant put into production?

The armed vacc-suits and the Mantis VTOL will both be up on our store in the next few days, and we'll have good stocks of them both at Warfare on the 22/23 November!
