Raiders of Arcana on Kickstarter

Great Project – I love the concept of culture-based warbands composed of various groups and races. This is exactly how I play, and seems more realistic than simple racial armies. Fantasy worlds, just like our own, are likely to display the same historical complexities, with various political alliances, ad-hoc collections of mercaneries, immigrant populations and unexpected emnities.

I particularly like the orcs – a nice move away from the comical extremes of GW, and back towards more the man-like orcs of LotR. The beasts and monsters are the ones most likely to make me back – as a roleplayer and GM, it seems I can never get enough monsters!

Battlezone Miniatures of Battlezone Miniatures writes:

Battlezone Miniatures has just launched our first Kickstarter campaign – Raiders of Arcana. This will be a warband-style game for between 30 to 60 figures, and we will be supporting these rules with a complete set of new figures.

Raiders of Arcana

With Raiders of Arcana, we want to offer a different concept to how the warbands are put together. Instead of fielding warbands or armies of one race, warbands will be based around a culture, and can include units from various fantasy races. In a single warband, you may have humans fighting alongside Elves, Dwarves and Orcs, with the warband culture dictating the style and level of weapons and armor available.
