Can't see why I would waste dollars on it either... They look a little goofy. The story might be okay if not for the sculpts...

If it is the paint job, could I suggest a white or gray primer over the raw figure to let us judge?

New For Typhon - the game of Heroic Scale skirmish in mythical Greece

The Cyclopean Warriors - Followers of the Elder Cylcopes

Cyclopean Warrior TY11

The race of Men and the Gods of Mount Olympus rule the earth, but it has not always been this way. Before the Fourth race of Men began their glorious deeds and felt the sun upon their faces it was the time of the Brazen Men or the Third race of men. The Brazen Men fell like fruit from ashen trees and took up arms in pursuit of war; their most delightful work. They ate both bread and carrion flesh that rotted on the grass. They were insolent and pitiless men and the Black Death seized them and cast them into Tartarus along with the failed Titans of Cronus' time.

Those who did not succumb to the Black Death were in the remotest places and lived as herdsmen under the protection of Poseidon's brothers the Elder Cyclopes. They are spared in return for service to the monstrous trio of the Elder Cyclopes.

The Elder Cyclopes ancient and powerful are three in number and their names are Brontes 'The Thunderer', Steropes 'The Lightener' and Arges 'The Vivid'. They have long been imprisoned in Tartarus and are freed only to craft the weapons of the Olympian Gods.

Master builders and blacksmiths their skills are needed by those in power and their works can be seen in the massive walls of Troy and the mighty fortifications of Tiryns. They created the thunderbolts of Zeus and the bow and quiver of Artemis. The Cyclopeans live in the remote places and resent the presence of all who follow the Olympian Gods and the Shades of Hades, they will war with and kill all who invade their domains. They can be found in Thrace and Mysia and other far away places but they do come into the realm of the Greeks looking for plunder.

Some warriors who wish not to follow the wishes of the Olympian Gods and still commit great deeds and glorious acts worship the Elder Cyclopes in return for the strength and powers they convey. The worshipping of Brontes shakes the very marrow in a man's bones, Steropes burns their skins and eyes and Arges alters their physical appearance. A Cyclopean Warrior is a man begotten by woman; but he is not a man that a Greek would call a brother.
