Peter Berry of Baccus 6mm writes:

I'd like to start by one again thanking all of you who contacted me following the Sheffield Floods. I'd like to assure you all that both Igor and myself are fine, the workshop is dry and and Baccus has marched on regardless. However, even as I type this, large areas of southern England have been hit by another wave of severe flooding and we'd both like to offer our best wishes to all caught up in this horrible deluge.

Recovery can be quick and to demonstrate this, just a few days after the floods round here, we were able to fling our doors wide for the Baccus Open Day on July 14th, and it was impossible for any of our visitors to see where the flooding had occurred until we pointed it out to them. As usual, both parties had a great time delving into the arcane secrets of how Baccus figures are designed, moulded and cast. We both really enjoyed the day. If you missed out this time, there'll be another one coming round early in 2008.

For those of you in the U.S.A., there is some great news. At long last, Old Rivertowne Miniatures are now up and running and selling Baccus figures directly to U.S. customers. Dave Tepool and his team have put a lot of work getting things going, and I'd like to congratulate them on a job well done. I know that ORM will offer an excellent level of customer service and am really looking forward to working with them. You can find their new website at ww.olderivertowneminis.com.

As ever, we've been working hard on new releases. The main thrust has been to complete the Zulu Wars range with all the irregular troops and commands for both side. These are nearly complete, so expect some news on this very shortly. I am hoping to launch these at Claymore. The Late Romans are also coming on nicely, and the sculpting is nearing completion. As the Baccus Painting Studio (also known as my dining room) is closed for the duration due to redecoration, I can't bring you any pictures of painted pre-releases, but here are a couple of masters of the Late Roman Cavalry. They are still lacking shields, but should give you a taste of what to expect.
