I just want to commend the speed of service from Warlord Games – I ordered the book late on Monday night and it arrived in the post today (Wednesday) – excellent.

And I highly recommend the book – even though I've only just flicked through the colour plates so far.

Back in print is Eduard Wagner's classic study of warfare during the Thirty Years' War, covering the people, uniforms and lives of soldiers from generals to muleteers. A tour de force of the period, it is a veritable bible of reference material for anyone interested in the Thirty Years War (or English Civil Wars, as much of the content is suitable for that too).
