Pictors Studio: "if I can just figure out what colour the drum should be, you'd figure it might be in one of the three books I have but no."

In the AWI period, two thirds of the drum shell would be natural wood, with the final third in the facing color of the regiment behind the regimental badge. By WWI, the entire shell of the drum was in the facing color (again, with the badge, plus battle honor scrolls). When the change occurred, and in fact if there were other variations in between, I don't know.

Next month, there will be Belgian Carabiniers and more Jagers for the Dutch/Belgian 1815 range, and more Hessian musketeers for AWI.

Michael's working on Blue Jackets for the Sudan - but as he's been on holiday (yes, we do take time off sometimes!), they won't be ready for next month's release, I'm afraid.

The dismounted men at arms can be armed with cut-down lances (a common practice of the period), and the infantry can be used as spearmen or Low Countries, Scottish or Swiss pikemen. For pikes, use X1; and for cut-down lances/spears, use X2.
