Rebel Minis announced today that it has acquired the Mighty Armies line from Mongoose Publishing.
Mighty Armies is a fast-paced 15mm miniature battle system. Each Mighty Armies box set contains a complete 15mm army, allowing you to start playing just as soon as you have mounted the models on their bases and given them a bit of paint. Box sets can be combined to create a different mix of units in any given army, or special units can be added with the supplemental blister packs also available.
"We are pleased to hand the baton over on Mighty Armies, as it is a great game with a solid core of fans. We are looking forward to seeing what happens next with the game!" says Matthew Sprange of Mongoose Publishing.
As you can guess, I am pretty excited about this acquisition. The new website for the Mighty Armies is mightyarmiesonline.com. I am in the process of having one designed, but for now I have a simple information site up. We have a yahoo group - link - with design group Charon Productions for new concepts, feedback and discussions. All products will be available for sale at rebelminis.com.
Here's what we have been working on: All the molds and product have been transferred. We will be replacing some of the molds over time, because of wear and tear. We will still be using some of the printed rules and bases that have Mongoose Publishing on them, till we get our new ones made. Andrew Lucas and I are working on a new rulebook that will contain the rules as well as histories and stories about each race. The rulebook will also have a conversion chart that you can use to add and create new armies.
And speaking of new armies, we plan to launch 4 new armies over the next year. We have not decided which will come first, but I have been working with some great sculptors and I hope to make an announcement soon. We also plan on having tournaments and competitions through out the year at conventions. Once I know more, I will make some announcements.
