First Legion is now shipping our 40mm Wars of Antiquity Spartan Infantry and Persian Empire Infantry. The figures are sold in packs of four unique figures for $13.95 USD.

40mm Spartans by First Legion

There are 9 packs of Spartans with Hoplites with both spears and swords, archers, light infantry, slingers, archers, command, and a personality vignette of Leonidas and a goat being sacrificed. The infantry of the Persian Empire is represented with 6 packs of Persian infantry including Immortals, heavy infantry with both spears and hand weapons, archers, light infantry, and command. No Persian army would be complete without cavalry, so by the end of June we'll have also released 3 packs of two mounted figures each of Persian cavalry, including warriors, archers, and command.

We had previously released the Spartans, but had them recast when it was determined that the spears, which are cast into the figure's hands, might be too brittle. As such, all Spartan and Persian figures have a hard wire spear inserted into the mold while casting, with the spear tip and spear end molded directly on. An example of this is shown on our website.

Future releases in our 40mm Wars of Antiquity range are the Macedonians, and Crusaders and Saracens. The first sculpts of each of these ranges can be seen in the Workbench on our website.
