Thank you for the comments – I feel I must clarify a few things, so that you have a better perspective.
This is not a mat, even a flocked one with generic scatter terrain on it.
This is fully and professionally hand made and hand painted, 3d resin, pvc and xps foam terrain, with deeper river and pond pieces. It comes in modular pieces 1x1' tiles than can be arranged in 100s of configurations, very close to a diorama, and can still be carried in a case to the club, and take all the punishment you can give. We aim to make each one of these tiles a small work of art.
Such a set of 32 tiles requires more than 3 weeks of manhours to finish, without including material costs. Please take these into consideration when referring to the cost :)
The eshop offers a variety of less expensive tiles which require less work and therefore can be used to create a table to your favorite size at a much lower price. This particular set has many quite impressive tiles like the pond and the crater, which increase its cost (but look awesome :) )

@Shagnasty – well most clients go for the 6x4 sets, I guess due to space limitations, so we seldom offer full 8x4 sets (although a client can buy enough tiles to create one). Also, most recent rulesets require just a 6x4 table, so we have begun to consider them "normal". But probably the main reason we think of it as huge is due to the amount of work needed for all this detail :)
