Sue Kes of Collecting Citadel Miniatures writes:

The Yahoo! Group Collecting Citadel Miniatures issues a limited-edition figure each year. This year sees the first which we have produced to raise money for a charity, and we are grateful to the great Bob Olley for sculpting the figure for us, and for arranging its packing and distribution.

Bob Olley Ltd. Edition Orc with paintbrush

Previous miniatures have followed the theme of sculpting and painting figures, and this one is no exception - it is an Orc (or Ork) mounted on a War Kangaroo, with a sprue of alternative arms and shields, so he can be assembled with a sable brush in one hand and a palette in the other, or as a fantasy piece with shield and axe, or as sci-fi with a bolter.

The miniature stands 36mm high and the base is 60mm long. To see more photos of the figure, please contact me through TMP.

There will be a maximum of 500 cast; each will have its number scribed on the base and will come in a baggie with a special label.

So why, I hear you ask, a War Kangaroo? Well, the figure is dedicated to Joe Thomlinson, a strong supporter of our hobby and a moderator of the Yahoo! Group. Earlier this year, Joe's young son was diagnosed as suffering from Autism Spectrum Disorder, and we decided we would like to assist him in some way while recognising the contribution he has made to the hobby and the group. As Joe lives in Australia, a War Kangaroo seemed appropriate.

All profits (about a third) of the sales will be donated to the Biala Early Intervention Centre, which provides much-needed services for young children with special needs.

Although sales of the CCM limited edition are usually restricted to CCM members, this year sees the chance for anyone to obtain a truly limited-edition model by one of the hobby's leading sculptors.
