Trevellion,

Actually the post with the Wargamer.pl flags was intended for Nick in Somerset and had nothing to do with your Vastgota flags or my criticism of them.

As for the content of your last post.

Let see, is it irrational to point that the two sets of flags are indentical except for the symbols being arranged in diffrent patterns?

Is it an irrational rant to point out that the design is conjectural and not based on historical sources? And that a better conjecural design could have been made by basing the reconstruction on the known Swedish cavalry standards rather than using the distinctive infantry flags carried by the Green Regiment.

The "And why on earth…" part of my intial post was certainly acerbic but not close to a fullblown rant with an overdose of virtol. And once it was shown that I was in error regarding who made the design error I apologised for my error. Hardly typical of someone who is ranting on a subject.

As for the shill part, nope no connection to Wargamer.pl, not even as a customer. And their Swedish flags are made for the Deluge period of 1655-1660 which means that they are wrong for the TYW period. They are certainly not suitable for Gustavus army as for example the Royal Monograms are those of Karl X Gustav (Carolus Gustavus)who became king of Sweden in 1654. 6 years after the end of the TYW and 22 years after the death of Gustavus. So the Wargamer.pl flags are not a competing TYW product.

Why chose what looks a lot like ad hominem and strawman arguments rather than arguing the historical and factual merits of the hz-forum design for the Vastgota standards?

Particularly as I did as you requested and posted a factual description of why the Hz-forum Vastgota standards are erronous complete with sources.

It has been extremely busy here at Battle Flag for the last week or so. That busy, in fact, that I have had to buy another printer to run in tandem, to ensure that the orders get out on time. Even with several large orders to fulfill, the second printer has ensured that we are still getting individual customers' orders off to them within 24 hrs.

Swedish cavalry flags

Designing into the wee small hours over the past weekend, this week sees the release of nine new wargame flags for the Thirty Years War on the now-familiar three-flag collectors' sheet.

Sachsen-Weimar Regiment flags

The Swedish generals out there will be pleased to see the release of the Vastgota Cavalry, Mitschefall Infantry, and the Saxe-Weimar Infantry sets of wargame flags, in both 25mm and 15mm.

As always, other sizes are available upon request.
