I have played a BUNCH of games, and it's a brilliant sysytem. I have run some scenarios at the local game store as well, and even sober people can pick the rules up very quickly.

All:

I will by playtesting Watch Your Six! - a new set of WWII-Korea air rules - on Saturday at Historicon.

The rules have been in development for nearly two years now - I expect to finish them early next year.

I have been collaborating with several folks - including the dauntless Chris Pringle, Mark Fastoso, CB Stevens and former U.S.A.F. Thunderbird pilot Rob Givens, as well as several others. We think the rules represent reality, while keeping the game relatively light and fun to play.

Turns are plotted in advance (similar to the old Blue Max system), so large games are possible; at Cold Wars this year, we had one game with 12 players and completed it in less than 2 hours.

Combat uses various die types to represent air-to-air weaponry, and pilot skill is the most important aspect in the game (a factor lacking in a surprising number of air games). Watch Your Six truly reflects the words of Chuck Yeager, "It is the man, not the machine."

Two scenarios will be played on Saturday at Historicon - one from the Battle for France (1940), and one featuring Bf 109s and P-51s.

Several scenario books (of course!) will be released with or shortly after the rules. The first scenario book will focus on the Battle of Britain; later books will focus on the air battles over North Africa and Sicily, and Guadalcanal.

Hope to see you at Historicon!

Cheers!
