Forge World: Games Day UK 2009

Scutatus writes:

To try to be fair to Forgeworld, they have said all year that the 2.0 Rulebook would not be released until the end of this year (so any time in the next month or three) and…that would be it for WAB this year. They never intended to release any WAB Supplements this year,as 2009 was about Forgeworld "Getting up to speed" with their new charge, so to speak. So yes, its frustrating, but it is absolutely according to plan apparently. The authors need time to write (and perhaps in some cases rewrite) their books for an intended three book a year schedule, starting 2010. And Forgeworld need time to set that very system up. That isn't easily done, especially if Forgeworld are still relying on largely out of house contributors (are they still?).

Do we absolutely know for certain that no work at all is being done by authors behind the scenes? I think perhaps that actually it might be, unless some of you here are privy to information I am unaware of (entirely possible).

Once WAB2 is out, Forge World should in 2010 begin to start releasing our long awaited supplements (such as the Successors!) and kick off with their intended new printing run of around three WAB supplements a year. Or so I was told back in March anyhow.

We'll soon see if that still comes to pass.

Alan Bligh of Forge World writes:

Forge World's next event is also by far the largest in our calendar: Games Day U.K., and we are already in feverish preparation for the big day itself.

Forge World at Game Day

As ever, we will have our whole design team on hand to answer your questions and preview what we have in store for the future, our massive sales stand with a whole articulated lorry's worth of stock, display boards, special games and more.

We have a Games Day U.K. page on our website which we'll be updating with new information as we get closer to the event, but rest assured we will have some exciting major new releases for you on the day.
