To muscle through to the 1917 German trenches, the French quickly came up with the Schneider Tank. Sadly, its armor was too weak and because its two fuel tanks were exposed, the fire hazard was far too great. They were very vulnerable even to light artillery fire. The second batch of Schneider Tanks was a great improvement on the first.
Our Schneider Tank, with paper-thin walls (thanks to Fiddlers Green designer Richard Dery), comes in two sizes as well as BW and number 6 in this great, educational and easy-to-build WWI tank series. Next model is the U.S. Ford 3-ton Light Tank hot on its heels.
