I'm no expert on 20th C. warfare, but since these vehicles were mainly intended for reconnaissance duties, it would appear sensible to look at rearward driving and firing: Whatever the commander observed would only be of use if he survived detection and pursuit to report it?

To support our growing Italian ranges is the latest in our huge range of Bolt Action vehicles – the Autoblinda AB41 armored car!

During World War II, the Autoblinda AB41 operated in North Africa, the Balkans, Italy, Hungary, and on the Eastern Front. It proved highly suitable for reconnaissance, escort and security duties. The AB41 could be quickly adapted for operation on any terrain. Sand tires could be fitted for desert work, and it could even run on railway tracks. The rail-converted vehicles were primarily used in anti-partisan patrols in the Balkans.

Armed with a 20mm Breda gun and backed up by a co-axial machinegun and a further machinegun mounted facing rearwards for when the AB41 was driven in reverse (make your own gags…). There was a secondary driving position for occasions when the vehicle was driven in reverse.

The great-looking vehicle also served the German armed forces well, too. After the Italian armistice, the Germans captured over 50 AB41s and went on to build a further 120, giving them the designation Panzerspähwagen AB41 201(i).
