John Buckmaster of Dream Pod 9, Inc writes:

DP9 is doing a Squad Painting contest!

Deadline is 11:59 Mountain Time, May 30, 2009. Use any DP9 figures currently available from the Heavy Gear Blitz store. No other figures may be used, but you may alter them as much as you want, as long as it remains a legal squad from the Locked and Loaded rulebook. First place gets $55 USD credit at the web store, second gets $35 USD credit at the web store, and third gets $25 USD credit at the Web store.

Locked and Loaded

Any person not affiliated with Dream Pod 9 in an official manner may enter. By entering, you agree to let us use your photos on the webpage, in Aurora and for promotional purposes. But mostly to show that you guys rock. Entries should be submitted via email to dp9.rules.support@gmail.com with a title of "Painted Squad submission 09." Include your name, your location, the piece's title, how you built the squad using locked and Loaded and any "in progress" photos you wish along with the final photos. Please make them web-resolution and do not send more than five per entry. If you have trouble emailing submissions, please contact John at the above address and he will work on arranging alternate methods of submission, within reason. There is no limit to the number of entries you may make, but each squad must contain different miniatures (no using the same hunter in two entries).

The Judging: All entries will be judged on Creativity, Composition and Painting with priority given to Composition and Creativity. Judging will be done by the DP9 staff and winners will be announced by mid-June.
