It depends on how the scenario is structured, how the victory conditions are defined, and what options are available to the Texan player. Obviously much of this is arbitrary, but that's what makes this a game, not a reenactment. For example, there could be a victory point system in place, and the Texans earn points for inflciting casualties, holding out past a certain time, perhaps getting some figures OUT of the Alamo (escapees) successfully, and so on. While the battle results may be a forgone conclusion, given the disparity of historical forces, there is room to define "victory" in different ways.

The main thing is, do all the players have a fun time despite the probably pre-ordained outcome of the game?
If the rules build fun into the game, then it will be a success.

We will be running a demo game of the new Alamo rules by Warhammer Historical at Phantom of the Attic in Pittsburgh (Oakland, technically) on Sunday, May 7th. We will be starting between 12:30 and 1 p.m.

Action at the Alamo

All figures, terrain, and dice will be provided. Most of the figures we will be using were painted by us for the pictures in the rulebook.

Action at the Alamo

We will have spots for a number of people on both sides, but I would imagine that there will be a lot of people interested. If you want to reserve a space, e-mail me at pictors@pictorsstudio.com or call me at (724) 238-4778.

If you need directions to Phantom, check out their website here.
