Well, the Starship Troopers miniuatures game was released for sale to the distribution chain yesterday.
Within minutes we had completely sold out of the first shipment of the main box set and the Arachnid Warrior Bugs box set. We still have a few of the MI Cap Troopers box set, but we are monitoring their stock levels closely. We have also kept a small number of box sets in our office to service mail orders for those of you who do not have easy access to a games store - but check out your local guys first. They deserve your support.
The Starship Troopers Open Evening was yesterday, too, and it was our first opportunity to present the game to gamers who had not joined in on the playtesting process - I have to say, the game seemed to go down a hit with them, with many walking out the door at the end of the evening balancing precarious piles of Starship Troopers goodness! Everyone seemed to pick up the core rules within a matter of minutes, and then it was on to a solid night of blasting Warrior Bugs (and the occasional Hopper and Firefry) and charging MI lines.
The on-sale date for Starship Troopers is the 21st (next week!), and we are expecting the game to do just as well in the retail stores.
We have a second shipment of the game and other box sets already on its way - we'll keep you updated as to their delivery times. In the meantime, the Hopper Bugs, M8 and M9 Marauder box sets have just gone into production, and should be hitting the stores towards the end of next month.
Aside from producing all the models featured in the main box set by the end of the year, we are also working hard developing new material, ensuring that Starship Troopers will be well supported in the years to come.
