Flux Battle Objectives take a system-agnostic, 'asymmetric' approach to determine the criteria for victory for tabletop battles. Not only does this mean that each combatant may not actually know what the true objective of the other is, but success for one combatant may not immediately mean failure for the other (unless all sides are bent on destroying everyone else, of course!).
This publication contains eleven Primary Objectives for combatants to fight over, each of which can be achieved by a degree of victory and represent the true purpose for an army to be taking to the battlefield; 23 Secondary Objectives, which represent opportune goals that the army can carry out that leads to material gain for that side of the war, or can turn a tide of a particular battle and are achieved on a pass/fail basis; and 22 Sub-plots that represent narrative stories that apply to a single model or squadron in an army: their success or failure is of no direct consequence to the greater war effort, but narratively they allow for better morale, riches or discipline within your army and may lead to 'promotion' for the individuals who succeed in them.
