K Line Railroad models sells the trucks. Price at the local hobby store today was about $5.00 USD each. They need to be repainted. The tires are rubber and can be removed before spraying.

They also have some other more modern trucks available. This includes a large van truck the size of a large U-Haul van, some early period cars, and an emergency van (Fire Department, Emergency, SWAT) as well as a fire truck and some large semi rigs.

That company has a large number of the K-Line trucks, as well as other 1/43 and 1/48-50 trucks, SOLIDO, and CORGI vehicles.

Mike Reese reports:

This link is to my Flickr site, where I posted the pictures I took at Origins over the 4th of July weekend.

Red Counterthrust

These are mostly from the three games I ran using Red Counterthrust from the line of SkirmishCampaigns books (GD at Kursk, specifically). I ran the scenario three times using the variable units table in the book. For the third game, I also added a 4-tank T34/76 company to the Soviet side, and two Panzer III/J to the German side, in addition to their variable force rolls.

The game used the Large Scale tables, where 1" on the table equals 5 meters. Table size was 8 feet wide by 15 feet long. Figure scale was 28mm, using BTD models. Vehicles are 1/43 to 1/50 scale, including AFAD, Solido, Tamiya, and Russian Ford trucks converted from a common ¼3 Ford model (usually costing about $3 USD-$5 USD each).

Also included is a copy of the game map (in two parts). The Soviets gained more ground in each game - they had to get 2 AFVs off the south side of the table.

I didn't manage to get pictures from the rest of the con, but others can add them to my site.

There are also pictures on the site from my model collection, and from other conventions over the last five years or so.

Operation Bagration

The other major Origins pictures are from a historical Flames of War game using the "tournament" rules to run a normal historical scenario - in this case, the withdrawal by elements of 5th Panzer Division over a major river in Russia as the rest of Army Group Center (what was left) withdrew during the 22nd June '44 Operation Bagration.
