Painting Battle Honour's NKVD Command

We may be sending these WWII Russian figures off to Vancouver for painting, but they'll eventually reach Thailand - because that's where DJD Miniatures conducts operations...

Hi, all!

There has been some confusion about the actual size of 1-48COMBAT minis, so let's put the record straight: what does 1:48 mean, and how big are these figures?

1-48 is an exact scale. It means that the scaled models are 48 times smaller than the actual size of the real object. It is sometimes referred to as quarter scale, because a quarter inch represents one foot, and is equivalent to the model train's O Scale in the U.S. (in the U.K., O Scale is more commonly 1:43.5 or 7mm to the foot, and in the rest of Europe, O Scale is 1:45). Tamiya and other scale model makers have recently begun to manufacture a line of military ground vehicle models in this scale.

1-48COMBAT minis are approximately 36mm to the top of the head

An average standing man in 1:48 scale is approximately 36mm tall, so 1-48COMBAT figures are fairly close in size to the commonly called 32mm (Barret scale, which is measured to the eyes, so roughly 35-36mm to the top of the head) or other sometimes called "heroic scale" wargame figures, but are slightly more realistically proportioned.

And beautifully proportioned too! :)

Hopefully this will clear the matter!

Have fun!

Cheers!
