World at War #80: Hannut: France 1940 Wargame. Two-player operational level simulation of the battle fought during the Battle of Belgium that took place between 12 and 14 May 1940 at Hannut in Belgium. The primary purpose of the Germans was to tie down the strongest elements of the French 1st Army and keep it away from the main German attack by Army Group A through the Ardennes. The delay was to entice the allies into believing the main thrust would come through Belgium and then down into France. The ensuing battle was the largest clash of tanks in armored warfare history at the time. Hannut uses a simplified version of the Grand Operational Simulation Series (GOSS) rules that depict WWII combat at the battalion level. Each hex on the map is one mile. Units are battalions and companies. Each AM and PM game turn (GT) represents about one-half of available daylight hours. Night GTs extend through the hours of darkness. Modern War #55: Objective: Hamburg (7DR #5) Wargame. Objective Hamburg is a two-player alternative history wargame intended to investigate the operational parameters that would have been in place during the first four days of fighting in that border area of West Germany had the Soviet Union decided to try to attack sometime in the early 1980s. It was during that time frame, the Warsaw Pact achieved a possible decisive correlation of forces between their militaries and those of the West. This game is the fifth and final volume of the 7DR (Seven Days to the Rhine) series. Each single-volume game uses the same system and will be playable alone or combined with other games in the series. Each hexagon on the map represents 2.5 miles (four kilometers) from side to opposite side. The Warsaw Pact units are regiments, while NATO units are battalions. Air power and electronic warfare counters and rules abstractly represent, the effects of one side or the other gaining temporary superiority within those sub-realms of conflict. Napoleon's Imperial Guard: Organization, Uniforms and Weapons. Detailed analysis of the organization, uniforms, and weapons of the French Imperial Guard created by Napoleon I. Describes how this large military body evolved from the Consular Guard created by Bonaparte as early as 1799, and came to include dozens of different military units belonging to each branch of service (infantry, cavalry, artillery, and specialist corps). The Imperial Guard was a miniature army made up of veteran soldiers, who were dressed in spectacular and elegant uniforms. The Divisions of the Army of the RSI 1943-1944: Volume 1. Two-volume set examines the Divisions formed by the Army of the RSI, as well as the departments used in the fight against the partisans by the Republican National Army, starting from the last months of 1943. The purpose of continuing the war had always been present since the beginning of autumn 1943 in the military authorities of the Social Republic. During talks between Mussolini and Hitler it was agreed to form a new fascist army of 10 to 15 divisions. In reality, only four were planned and formed by the Republican National Army: 1st Bersaglieri Division Italy, 2nd Grenadiers Division Littorio, 3rd Marine Division San Marco, and 4th Alpine Division Monterosa.
