Osprey Wargames Series – Open Submissions

Hey guys, let me answer a few questions and lay a fear to rest.

For the Wargame series, Osprey is NOT buying all rights. We understand that ownership of these rules sets is important to their creators. We are buying the right to produce and sell the rules, but the IP remains with the author.

As for payment, we are offering a small advance, but most of the payment will come through royalties.

A few months ago, Osprey Publishing announced its new Osprey Wargames series, and revealed the first two titles. Now, Osprey Wargames is opening the doors to any and all submissions. So, if you've written a set of rules that has given you some great games, email a copy through to wargames@ospreypublishing.com, and it might end up getting the Osprey treatment.

Even if your rules aren't finished, we're always looking for projects for the future. So, if you have a game that's almost there, or the seed of a fantastic idea, we'd love to hear from you – feel free to get in touch.

The Osprey Wargames books are 64 pages long – the same as one of our Elite series books – and the word count should be in the 22,000 range. Apart from that, though, pretty much anything goes!

We know there are some amazing homebrew games out there, and we're looking forward to helping produce them as the high-quality books they deserve to be!

Email wargames@ospreypublishing.com with any enquiries, and keep watching this space for more news.
