Patient Zero of Pireme Publishing writes:

Pireme Publishing Ltd, publishers of Miniature Wargames magazine and other products for the wargaming community, has been sold by owners Iain and Pamela Dickie to private investor Andrew Hubback, a former business journalist with some twenty years of experience in the publishing industry. Andrew's main wargaming interests are WWII and Moderns.

One of Andrew's first moves has been to relocate the company from Dorset to Nottingham, the heart of Britain's wargaming 'leadbelt'. It has also been confirmed that Iain Dickie will remain associated with the magazine, with the title of Consultant Editor, to ensure that Andrew benefits from Iain's wealth of experience and knowledge of the both the business and the wider wargaming world.

Iain said: "I've had a great time making lots of friends, traveling to lots of different places and I've enjoyed every minute. Twenty-two years, however, is a long time and now it's time for a change. I wish Andrew, the magazine and all of you the very best for the future."

Andrew said of the deal: "I am delighted to have acquired this prestigious publication that has served its readers and advertisers so well over the last 25 years and would like to pay tribute to Iain and Pamela for all the hard work they have put in to make it the success it is. I very much look forward to leading the magazine into its next 25 years and getting to know as many of the readers, contributors and companies that support it as possible."

The new owner is committed to investing in the magazine's continued success with a focus on building its subscription base, expanding its presence in the market, and making it the magazine of choice for advertisers. Andrew is also excited about the potential to develop Pireme Publishing's other products lines, such as Starter Packs, the Hammer's Slammers handbooks, and wargaming rules and accessories.

Andrew said: "I welcome the input of readers and the trade as I plot the magazine's future course, so please feel free to email your comments and suggestions to andrew@miniwargames.com."

Andrew added: "It is particularly significant that Miniature Wargames celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, and I plan one or two special initiatives to mark this later in the year, so watch this space for further announcements."
