Mongoose Publishing denies any tie to a harassment campaign which has targeted several Yahoo! fan sites.

"I have been in touch with Matthew Sprange, the co-owner of Mongoose Publishing concerning this matter and here is his reply," writes Marc Farrimond in a public response.

Matthew is more than happy for the group to discuss both Mongoose Publishing, and the upcoming Starship Troopers game, along with any other products. He informs me that the emails have not originated from Mongoose Publishing, and the more exposure to the games is of course the better.

Yahoo! gaming groups for fans of such properties as Starship Troopers, Stargate, Aliens and Predator have recently come under attack by individuals claiming to be enforcing IP rights or representing game companies.

Sci-fi Egyptian Armoured Warriors from Eureka

One threatening email, addressed to a group moderator, reads as follows:

FYI you'll notice that MJ minis got nailed by the people StarGate people... your group made this a hell of a lot easier (we are all members)...

others besides MJ minis/Dragons hoard are gonna get taken down soon. We (there are several of us) collected all the info and informed the stargate lawyers...

Too many idiots were making a buck off of someone elses property... Spare everyone the pathetic arguements that this theft doesn't hurt anyone... we're all sick of theives rationalizing...

Eureka has been reported, and their minis are even closer ripoffs than MJ's were...

Monolith has been turned in... along with copies of his product and posts from him describing his stargate minis...

MOFO and GZG as well...

We reported MJ and sent copies of their stuff a month ago so they went down first... we turned in the rest this week so it could be a little while... but they will all be going down...

You may want to warn your thief freinds that we all attend shows... especially in the U.K. so if they try to sell the ripoffs there...we'll buy and bust them...
Space Gaet model from MJ Figures

MJ Figures reports being contacted by people claiming to be attorneys. "We spoke to the lawyers," says Debra of MJ Figures, who describes receiving a four-page "letter of demands" via email.

"We are unable to sell the Space Gaet range for the time being," she says. MJ Figures will be meeting with their own legal counsel later this week.
