Wargaming at the Anaheim Muzeo

This battle used a home brew set written by RJ Galati call Fire and Maneuver. They are simple and fast and require a minimum of chart searching. The focus of the exhibit was demonstrating the mechanics and drama of wargaming as opposed to explaining one rule set. Most visitors to the museum have never seen anything like this before.

Treasures of Napoleon

Months ago, we caught wind of the Treasures of Napoleon traveling exhibit that will be at the Muzeo in Anaheim from now until January 8th, 2010. I emailed the Muzeo and asked if they would like us to put on demonstrations of 28mm Napoleonic wargames on Saturdays during the run of the show. Their response was enthusiastic and affirmative.

Every Saturday between now and the week before Christmas, the KidZeo part of the museum features Napoleonic wargames. There is no charge to stop in and play - and while you are there, pick up a half-price ($6.50 USD per person) coupon to the historical exhibit. The nearby parking garage is free on the weekends. The wargames room is on the ground floor of the historic Carnegie Library portion of the museum.

Some of our games have carried over until Sunday, which allowed us to meet the members of the Warhorse Foundation, who put on reenactment events on Sundays during the run of the show.
