Steve of Immortal Miniatures writes:

I have finally got the first two packs of Spartans online for sale! I had been holding off finishing the sculpting on these pieces as I wanted to check some details with one of my sources.

You may also notice that the website has undergone a redesign. This should make it easier for you to pick your forces and choose your enemies.

Spartan King

The Spartan king is in full hoplite panoply, with one armoured arm, legs and even feet! These seem to have been more common in Spartan art than other cities. Several examples are on display in museums and private collections.

The king comes with two bronze-armoured bodyguard.

Spartan Hoplites

The first set of Spartan hoplites are wearing linen armour. It is a common misconception that the Spartans never adopted linen armour, but this has not been widely discredited.

These figures are slightly bigger than my first hoplites. I have purposely sculpted them in this way to fit in with the upcoming plastics (which will be released at Salute!).

Command is priced at £3.50 GBP for three figures. Infantry are £5.50 GBP for five.

All figures are metal and 28mm tall.

Last of all... you can see a preview of my new transfers on the Greek page, which will be available soon.

I have Babylonian, Assyrian and Persian kings in chariots on my painting table for the next release!
