From the website:

"The game is historical with one slight twist. It was written for what the ships were designed to do, not what they actually did."

I would like some further explanantion of that. Does that mean the eary ironclads are seaworthy, or that the Merrimac/Virginia's engines run smoothly?

Otherwise, looks interesting. Any reviews of the games available?

August 1, 2007: CSS Chicora launches our new Quick Play rules!

Brown Water Navies - Quick Start version

As a gamer, I have looked at a number of rulesets and thought, "Will I like them?" Then had to decide whether or not to spend that $30 USD, $40 USD, or more to get started. Well, you do not have to any more.

At CSS Chicora, we have designed a series of our games: Brown Water Navies - Civil War Ironclads; Armed Warfare - modern tanks WWII to today; Blue Water Navies - 1914 to 1946; and developed a new quick-play version.

Unit cards

Each game includes quick-play rules, a scenario, and downloadable unit cards. All you need are dice and about 20 minutes. These are ready to play, and give you a chance to "test drive" the system.

PDF prices are $7.95 USD. Just visit our website - csschicora.com.

Rules for normal people!
