Lily Savage indeed! Hurumph!

Yes thanks to Nic for supplying the models (amongst the other tonnes of lead he has provided to me over the years!). The Tripods are GZG, the Ironclads are modified from German A7Vs from Irregular's 6mm range.

And thanks to Steve and Matthew for the inpiration to mke them!

Glad you like my models :-)

best wishes,
Paul

Steve Blease of Wessex Games writes:

Wessex Games have confirmed their 2006 plans in respect of their Redcoats on Mars Victorian Science Fiction line.

An ironclad attack

Two new games are planned for the summer of 2006.

Aquanef

First off is Aquanef, the long-awaited VSF submarine rules inspired by the works of George Griffith and Jules Verne (amongst others).

Aquanef will include rules for pitting the Great Powers aquanef forces against each other, as well as monstrous marine life and a new alien race discovered living on the sea bed. A geo-political timeline and scenarios will also be included.

Land Ironclads

Secondly is Land Ironclads, a 2mm scale landship game inspired by the works of H. G. Wells and Albert Robida, and designed to work with Wessex's existing 1/1200th VSF flyer rules (Aeronef) to allow for combined Land Ironclads/Aeronef battles (as well as standalone VSF land battles).

Land Ironclads will also include rules for chemical warfare and Martian tripod war-machines, as well as stats for historical and VSF troop types, a specific ground warfare timeline and scenarios.

Whereas the Aeronef background starts in 1884, Land Ironclads begins with the first use of armoured tractors by the British Army in the Crimean War, through the American Civil War to the Great War of 1899.
