The location and size of the redoubt is based on historical research I did. The real one may have been round rather than square, but square is a whole lot easier to do in paper :)

The Zulu War of 1879 is a fascinating period of history. And perhaps the most famous battle of the war was the gallant defense of the mission station at Rorke's Drift, where a small group of British soldiers held off an attack by a huge number of disciplined Zulu Warriors.

Rorke's Drift

PaperTerrain now offers the Mission Station at Rorke's Drift as a paper model! This kit allows you to build an accurate scale model of the buildings and structures at Rorke's Drift.

The kit includes the Hospital Building, the Commissary Building, a stone kraal, and the mealey bag and biscuit box barricades and redoubt that were built by the defenders. The kit can be constructed with our without additional reinforcements in the walls (if you wish to add the reinforcement to the wall, you will need foamboard or balsa wood or some similar material, which is not included in the kit). The two buildings come with complete interior detail and lift-off roofs-perfect for gaming!

Rorke's Drift

The kit comes in four scales. The 25/28mm kit ($50.00 USD) is approximately 45" long by 20" wide when assembled. The 20mm kit ($40.00 USD) is 36" by 16", the 15mm scale kit ($30.00 USD) is 27" by 12" and the 10/12mm scale kit ($20.00 USD) is 20" by 9".

6mm scale coming soon!
