Our 5-month-old is finally starting to go to bed at a reasonable time, so I have done some work on programming some improvements on our Auction page. It should now function very similar to eBay, in the respect that you enter a maximum bid amount and the program bids on your behalf. It should also email you an outbid notice.
To test it out, I convinced Tom to dig up one of his early greens for auction. The Weretiger was made in 1982 and licensed to Ral Partha for royalties, but that's long since lapsed - so whoever buys it, can produce it. This is great opportunity for Ral Partha- and Tom Meier-collectors out there to own a bit of miniature history. You could even bring it to the Antiques Roadshow in a few years... do you remember what you were doing in 1982?
The bidding is starting at only $10 USD. I want to get a good test of the automated bidding feature. If you run across any problems bidding, please let me know so I can fix it. Remember... eBay has millions and millions of dollars and lots of programmers. I have my computer in my basement, that I code on after putting the children to bed in the evening. Please make allowances.
To those who are saying to yourselves, "Why don't they just put it up on eBay"... my answer is : It is more fun for me this way! You also get the advantage of having a smaller audience to bid against, since only people that frequent our site, TMP, Frothers, Total Model and perhaps a couple other online communties are going to know about it.
The Auction page is here.
