Jape Trostle of Glory Games writes:

Durham, North Carolina — Glory Games today announced that it has secured a deal with The Food Network to design a collectible miniatures game based on the Iron Chef TV show. The game will allow players to recreate the action in Kitchen Stadium using pre-painted figures and cooking "terrain."

Iron Chef: The Miniatures Game

The starter sets, which should be available by Gen Con, will include two random figures in heroic 28mm scale - either an Iron Chef or a challenger, and one of the judges. So far, Glory Games has figures for Bobby Flay, Cat Cora, Mario Batali and Rachael Ray. Host Alton Brown and Chairman Kaga, the host of the original Japanese version of the show, will be given away in special promotions at conventions this summer.

The starter sets will also include the terrain needed to create one section of Kitchen Stadium, a 96-page rulebook, and acrylic "splash templates" for grease spills.

"We are really excited about this new line," said game designer Bob Bester. "This will allow gamers to play out their favorite Kitchen Stadium battles in just a few hours."

Glory Games is already planning expansions to be released by the holidays, including a live action role-playing game and Iron Chef: Cthulhu.

Said Bester, "Forget Yog-Sothoth — I dare any gamer to have his character sit next to Jeffrey Steingarten for an hour and still make their Sanity roll."
