July 4th was a special day in Norman Harms' life, in more ways than one. It was the day that his family packed up in 1950 and hit the road to California (and if they hadn't, he might not have met Pen, his wife and support staff). It was also the official date of his retirement from CalTrans (California's Department of Transportation) in 2009, after a career of nearly 40 years.
Therefore, it is fitting that we make the announcement of another one of Norm's last projects, even though they won't be back from the printer for another two weeks.
Scroll down, take a look, and enjoy… but please try not to drool on your keyboards.
We are pleased to announce the upcoming release of two related decal sheets – The Betty Bombers of Rabaul 1943 with extra markings for the Oka suicide bomb carriers. And P-38s in the Southwest Pacific 1942-1944. This second set includes markings for the Lightnings of the 339th Fighter Squadron that flew the Yamamoto mission – AKA Operation Vengeance – as well as markings for the two Betty bombers that carried the Admiral and his general staff to Bouganville on April 18, 1943.
The expected price for each sheet will be $7.85 USD.
