Very nice – I got a chance to check out the sprues at the Bovington show and they're just a nice in the flesh – they'd had some problem with the boxes so we couldn't buy them – the models had very good faces which by the look of this lot paint up rather nicely.

The sheets of flags are good value as well – so long as you want to paint up several regiments – but why wouldn't you at this price.

STEVE LBMS of Victrix Limited writes:

The new Highlander boxed sets are ready to order online, plus the metal Highland colonels and pioneer pack.

Highlanders - Centre Companies

As with the British sets, there is a center company and flank company set. Each box contains 60 figures, rules and four flags, and costs £19.95 GBP. These will start to be shipped from the 10th July, as the factory is building stock levels at present. Anybody who orders the Highlanders sets online before the 10th will receive a free metal random foot figure in their order.

Highlanders - Flank Companies

Also due for release in early August will be the Early French in Bicornes set 1804-1807. This set contains bicornes and Grenadier bearskins and bonnets de police for Fusiliers, Grenadiers and Voligeurs. It also includes an arm waving bicorne and a porte fanion arm. We initially wanted to include these in the initial French set, but there just wasn't the space on the tool, so we decided to replace the heads and some arms to create this early version of the French. These can be mixed with the 1807-1812 French in shakos, as many French soldiers continued to wear bicornes up to 1812. Although the coat tails are slightly shorter on the 1804 to 1812 French jacket, you could also use this set from 1800 onwards if you wish. Photographs of the heads will be on the website next week.

Highlanders - Colonels

The French Imperial Guard in greatcoats are progressing nicely, and we will keep you updated on their progress, plus the British foot artillery and French Dragoons. Images of the Grenadiers should be on the website within the next two to three weeks.
