Dear all,

axabrax has a good point.

The reason that there are no US Army, US Airborne and British Infantry cards is that I do not have any pictures that I am allowed to use. If anybody can let me have nice clean pictures of reenactors in these uniforms, I would be happy to produce the cards.

Regards
Mick

Artizan Designs is pleased to announce a new hobby support section for their customers.

Painters need clear reference material. Period photographs and watercolour paintings are often difficult to use. Two years ago, Mick Farnworth (TMP's Mick in Switzerland) decided to try to do something better. Mick approached Artizan, and we agreed to host his work on our website.

WWII painting guide

Digital camouflage guides are a new concept in painting guides. A digital rendering of an actual garment is presented with a fabric swatch and colour chips. Copyright of the source of the photos and swatch image is shown. Copyright for the final painting and card design rests with Mick Farnworth.

Each card can be downloaded from the internet. This card can be printed as often as desired, and paint mixtures can be tested on the colour swatches. It is even possible to shrink the image down and print a picture that is the actual size of the miniature. Painters are free to fade and weather the colours to suit their own tastes.

Twenty-four cards are now available on the Artizan website for several WWII uniforms, including British, Russian and German camouflage patterns.

In addition, there are three articles by Mick Farnworth:

  1. Introduction to German WWII Camouflage Patterns
  2. Introduction to Russian WWII Uniforms
  3. Hints and Tips for Painting 28mm Armies

All are free to download from Artizan Designs here.
