"I have several tubs of unpainted ECW lead sitting around…"

Same here, and I don't need to hand over another portrait of Ulysses S. Grant for further inspiration. I have the original edition of "1644", and I have "WECW".

I started with ECW back in the days of "strip" Minifigs and utterly unillustrated rules. I painted my regiments from uniform articles in "Military Modelling". Along the way, I picked up loads of reference material from Caliver Press.

The last thing I need is a prtty picture book to show me the way. Like John, what I need are local players! If the kids these days, with all their Googling on the Internets, need a book full of photos of painted miniatures and a potted history to get them to play, maybe they're better off with Space Marines or pre-painted plastics, by cracky!

Now where's my cane?
