I think much of the £1,400.00 GBP is donated prize support or gift certificates rather than actual cash. I imagine they would be happy to raise more than that.

Brett Johnson of Wamp writes:

Wamp has launched its charity event for this year. To try and raise over £1,000.00 GBP for Tommy's - a charity that helps prevent miscarriage and stillbirth - they have organized what is probably the largest miniature painting contest ever held online!

Painting contest supports Tommy's

The concept is simple: You can enter anything you like, any manufacturer, any scale, etc. - the only condition is that you auction that entry off for the charity.

To help persuade people to do that, the contest has a total prize fund that currently sits at a massive £1,489.49 GBP!! with over £315.00 GBP worth of goodies for best in show.

There are currently 30 categories you can win - such as best fantasy miniature, highest auction price, best base, etc. - as well as manufacturer-specific ones, plus random prizes just for entering and voting.

Deadline is February 14th, 2010.
