Jon Sutherland writes:

Very nice endorsement of the centre from writer and games designer Joe Dever – Joe was one of the test week guests in June 2010 when we invited people over to crash test the concept:

"Great venue, great games, wonderful company. I've very fond memories of the test week and I can highly recommend Wargames Holidays. It's something different and very special on the wargames scene."

Thanks Joe, maybe we should rename the apartment you stayed in The Joe Dever Suite!!!

Sun, Sand & Soldiers

We still have places available from May 24 to June 28, 2011, at the Wargame Holidays centre on the Mediterranean island of Crete, Greece. Seven days' bed-and-breakfast and four full days of wargaming costs as little as €255.00 EUR for three wargamers sharing an apartment. What's more, we'll pick you up from Heraklion airport and take you back in time for your return flight, too. There are numerous flights to the island, either direct or via Athens each day.

A panoramic view of part of the Indian Mutiny game

Come as a group or bring your partner, as we have just ten apartments in lovely grounds around an infinity pool. There is a restaurant and bar on site.

The wargames are played in a large, cool and airy basement. We have a vast 45-foot-by-6-foot table. Games on offer include American Civil War (28mm), World War Two in Crete 1941 and Normandy 1944 (both in 20mm), Indian Mutiny (28mm), and the Anglo Zulu War (15mm).

Crete is a fantastic holiday location with an unrivaled selection of historical sites from the Minoans and the Romans to the Ottomans and the Venetians.

Combine a great site-seeing and shopping holiday with wargaming for the best of both worlds. Get a tan into the bargain as you relax around the pool after a day's gaming.
