Wargames@Nordalia Publishes Gaugamela Diorama Article

Leaving the bases painted, not flocked, is *the* classic plastic soldier look, and was also common with metal figures in the early days. I refer you to back issues of Airfix magazine and the works of Charles Grant, et al. This army looks quite retro, and many would say that is not a bad thing.

The "pickling" solution is also an old technique for helping paint adhere to the plastic figures. It certainly cleans off any mold release, and may in some cases craze the surface to give the paint a texture to "grab".

The GM of Wargames@Nordalia writes:

Norris Eppes publishes his first written-for-Wargames@Nodalia article with a walk-through on his creation of a diorama depicting Alexander the Great's battle at Gaugamela in 20mm.

Norris Eppes' Completed Diorama

Over time, Norris has earned our respect (enough that we offered him the choice of our Japanese Artillery Review, which started the conversation about him joining our staff), and we're both lucky and glad to have him. Check out the article to see why.
