Recent reports have it that Antonio Portilla AKA combatpainter
is planning on legally changing his name to his TMP tag. He plans on being known simply as combatpainter
. This despite concerns from close family members and friends as to the lucidity of this decision.
Also, in the works is his first book - a painting guide called How Not to Paint. This will be chock-full of what "not" to do for the beginner, intermediate and advanced painter.
This comes at the same time as his recent announcement that he will be attending Millenium Con in Austin, Texas, from 6th to the 8th of November, where he will be actively stalking the THW ad model. This shall be his first personal appearance at a con since Cold Wars '08.
Also in the works is the eagerly awaited opening of his website, which seems to be finally underway. Reliable sources say that the delay was caused by a falling out with associates as he demanded creative control over the project and refused to have it any other way.
On a personal note: His painting business is doing well, and he is enjoying living on the southwest border. At the moment, he is raising his two children and painting. He is actively working on some Artizan Designs banditos and Apaches. Also, he has seen a rise in Flames of War commissions, which he enjoys greatly.
His Displaced Miniatures page is updated weekly, we are happy to report.
