Actually Foundry hold all the masters, so there is nothing to stop them redoing molds of the Perry Twins or anyone else that has worked for them. That said, Foundry don't like having to pay a royalty check to their former designers each year based on sales of their figures. That is why they are keen to redo a number of figure ranges so as to stop paying out these royalties…as the new designers apparently don't have these royalty deals.

Hence, Foundry will continue to milk the old ranges as long as possible…as what else do they really have to offer…the new ranges are generally hit and miss, with more miss than hit. In fact, since the Twins, Aly, Dave, etc. left when do you last recall Foundry launching a successful new range of figs??? I can't.

One last thought, as I stated I have heaps of older Foundry figs in my lead mountain collection. The other day I was comparing some old Foundry Indian Mutiny and Sikh War figs with the Perry's relatively new plastic British Naps and French Nap Heavy Cav. In short, there is really no comparison, as the new plastic sculpts are clearly superior figs. The same is true of the Perry's more recent metal ranges offered under their own banner; although I still don't like the metal they are using (doesn't look nice and a bit too much flash at times). The older Foundry figs look dated and in comparison to the Twins newer releases show just how much they have grown as talented designers. Let's just hope they keep pushing the envelope!
