These are two new ships in development, compared to two existing ships.
The Hydran Overlord heavy battlecruiser (gray putty) is compared to a Hydran Ranger cruiser. This is, basically, a cruiser hull with an enlarged front end holding more weapons.
The Lyran NCA (new heavy cruiser) is compared to a Lyran CW War Cruiser. This is basically a war cruiser with a bigger central section, and two center engines instead of one center engine.
