We are pleased to announce Ground Pounder, a new science-fiction miniatures game and supporting 32mm miniatures range currently under development.

Ground Pounder is a fast-paced and dynamic tabletop miniatures skirmish game that mixes epic space opera with gritty science fiction in a universe that is teetering on the brink of open conflict. Players take on the role of battle-hardened heroes in command of elite forces known as strike teams. At their disposal are highly trained soldiers, mighty battlesuits, ferocious warbeasts, advanced cyborgs, powerful psions, skilled combat hackers, and more!
Ground Pounder will feature four player factions, each featuring a unique style of game play between the factions and depending on the composition of your team. The Alliance protects humanity throughout the sphere, its forces are highly trained and motivated soldiers equipped with advanced hardsuits and battlesuits. The Free Strikers are soldiers for hire that will fight just about anybody's private war if the price is right. The Ravagers lie on the fringes of known space and are inhuman creatures that raid frontier worlds with increasing frequency and ferocity. Meanwhile a new threat from areas unknown comes from the Drax Hierarchy, implacable aliens drawn to worlds rich in sentient life seeking only one thing… a source of food!
The Ground Pounder rules will initially be available as a set of fast-play rules and a selection character stat cards that will be offered for free download on the Ground Pounder website. Printed fast-play rules and character stat cards will also be found in every boxed starter set. The fast-play rules will be followed by the full core rules, which will include scenarios and a campaign system, in a printed-and-bound book format. Ground Pounder's supporting miniature range will feature unpainted metal figures, some of which will be provided with optional parts such as heads, weapons and accessories. The figures will be 32mm tall measured from the soles of their feet to the crown of their head, which is approximately 30mm when measured to the eyes, making them compatible with a wide range of other miniature lines.

Slated for release in late 2009, you can visit the Ground Pounder website and learn more about the game, factions, keep up-to-date on news and join the discussion in the forums.
