Dear all:
As the first sale on the first print run of The Mahdist Wars Source Book ends with its complete liquidation, I realize I can perhaps make a deal for some of you (especially the color blind?) that might not be refusable.
Namely, I have a fair number of perfectly fine, first print runs of the MWSB - "untouched by human hand" and fine in all respects, save one.
Due to a printer's glitch, all of them were printed in Grayscale. That is, all "color" photographs are in shades of gray. They are as sharp and detailed as the color versions are, but the decidedly useful part of a uniform plate - its colors - are now left to your imagination, or a fine-combing of the text (where that would help!).
Otherwise, the full Orders of Battle from the Preziosi Collection, the special articles on the Hicks Pasha Disaster, the defense of Khartoum in '83, and more on the Italian's part in the Wars, as well as the Abyssinians, are still all there. And so are the extensive articles and (conveniently) B&W sketches of Bashi-Bazouks, Gendarmerie, and more of the "fun folk" of the Eastern Sudan.
In short, like watching the B&W print of your favorite movie, it's all there, just "grayer."
So what would such a "color glitch print" sell for?
Well, when printed as intended, the books normally go for $60.0 USD the pair, plus postage. Well, I can't do anything about the postage (black ink still weighs as much as color), but I can make a helluva deal on these copies.
Did I say $60.00 USD? Well what about $40.00 USD? Or how about $30.00 USD? Or how about $25.00 USD! And if you act now, we'll throw in the Turnip-Twaddler, the Magnetic Arthritis Cure, and the catalog of contents at that Government Warehouse where they dumped the Ark of The Covenant!
So that's the deal. Until I sell out, these books go for $25 USD the pair, plus postage ($7.00 USD Domestic, $14.00 USD Overseas, Canada, and Mexico). You can send payment directly to the PayPal account at TVAG@worldnet.att.net, or email me for other arrangements.
If you want to know more about the books, ask here at TMP, or go to the Rules & Books page at The (Virtual) Armchair General and read all about 'em!
So, let's hear those crashing piggy banks, frantic digging in the yard for that Mason jar, or just plain the sobbing of hungry children as you go for the gold!
