Thanks, knew about the 240 pennies to the pound, just not the markings on the coins.

A guinea? I know that one. Originally a gold coin worth 1 pound, but as the price of gold fluctuated, so did the value of a guinea. It was finally standardized at 1 pound & 1 shilling.

Newark siege half-crown

In To the Strongest!, players often use replica coins as Victory Tokens. I've introduced two new sets of coins for use with the coming TtS! English Civil War rules (which will be published mid-year).

The Newark siege half-crown (above) was introduced late in the English Civil War, being cut from silver plate to pay Royalist troops during the siege. It is a very unusual and beautiful coin; large, too (40mm by 30mm).

The Tower Mint sixpence (below) was used by both sides during the war.

Charles I Tower Mint sixpence

These, and many other ancient and medieval coins, can be found in the BigRedBatshop. I ship worldwide.

Best!
