"none of the 'Key Concepts' of this rule set are completely new nor unique."

Scott K. writes, "I have been given permission by JD McNeil at Slitherine Software to forward the following announcement to TMP. Please note that I have no connection of any kind with either of the two companies involved, beyond a wargamer's interest in the new ruleset."

Slitherine Software U.K. Ltd and Osprey Publishing are pleased to announce the development of a new, fully accessible ruleset for Ancient and Medieval tabletop wargaming. The new game, with a current working title of Art of War, will provide an exciting and enjoyable challenge for anyone interested in re-creating the desperate struggles of ancient and medieval civilisations. An extensive set of companion volumes will also be published, detailing hundreds of armies throughout the era, including the troops of the world's greatest generals like Rameses, Alexander the Great, Caesar, and Charles the Bold.

Art of War

Art of War will be available - complete with two companion army list books - from a variety of outlets in early 2008. More army lists and add-ons will be released during 2008 and onwards.
