I'm sure most people like lots of variety. Me? Not so much. I prefer my Spartans ("Hollywood" Spartans) to be…uniform with their pose as appropriate. Reads like I can make a go of it. I like the idea of arms having the option of being angled different ways. These models seem to meet everyones "Spartan" desires it seems. grin

The rumors are true!

Spartan Starter Set Box Cover - Artwork by Des Hanley

The first of the WarGods of Olympus miniatures are officially on the release schedule, due for release in May of 2007!

Perhaps you've heard about Crocodile Games' forthcoming Olympus range... this is the biggest project that Crocodile Games has ever undertaken - in constant development for the last 3 years, these amazing miniatures are finally ready to take the world by storm. The first faction that we'll be making available is the Spartans, the red-cloaked warriors of Lakedaemon, unsurpassed in all the world for their iron discipline in an age of bronze!

The initial wave of Spartans includes the following miniatures:

WGO-001 Spartan Hoplite Booster (2)
WGO-101 Spartan Captain & Casualty
WGO-102 Spartan Hero & Armor Rack
WGO-103 Arimedes, Spartan Strategos
WGO-201 Leonidas, King of Sparta
WGO-301 Spartan Phalanx (12)
WGO-501 Spartan War Altar & Guards
WGO-901 Spartan Warband Starter Set

(Boxed set containing 17 miniatures: 1 Spartan Phalanx of 12 Hoplites, Herald, Musician, 2 Honor Guards, and a Limited Edition "Tychedes II, King of Sparta".)

Spartan Phalanx - Sculpted by Todd Harris

But that is not all! The Spartan army will include other exciting miniatures, including a Chariot, peltasts, named characters from the pages of history and mythology, and more! All due for release by the summer of 2007 (and we're not kidding this time!). Basically, if you want to play Spartans, whether for WarGods or for historicals, Crocodile Games has the best, the baddest, coolest army of them around. And we'll even sell you 300!

We have had a lot of requests in the last few days to put these miniatures into our online store - the good news is that we will be adding them to the Croc Store the first week in April, for pre-orders only. The Spartans are due to be shipped worldwide to stores and distributors in May, and all pre-ordered miniatures will be shipped at the same time.

Until then, be sure to come back next Sunday, for another exciting preview of the best Greek miniatures to come along in 2,000 years!
