This is an STL file for your 3Dprinter of the German WWI aircraft Etrich Taube.
Nothing struck fear into the hearts of Allied aviators like the dreaded German aircraft Taube, which means dove. Yes, really.
So no, the Taube struck fear into the hearts of no allied aviators whatsoever, and from the looks of the thing it's easy to see why. Looking like a big bird out for a lazy joy ride, the Taube was very clearly a pre-war design.
However, it may have been a dove but it was a dove that could… bite? Sting? Whatever, it could and did drop a few bombs, including the first ever aerial bombing when the Italians dropped a few grenades on the heads of Turkish soldiers in 1912, and it was a very stable observation aircraft early in the war.
Taubes only lasted a few months as a front-line aircraft and were quickly replaced by less silly-looking machines.
The model is scaled at 1:100th but may be printed successfully at smaller or even larger scales (though with a corresponding loss of detail) depending on the quality of the printer and type of material. To print at 1:144th, rescale the model down to 69.44%.
The download also contains a 1:285 scale version.
The model has been printed in both resin and PLA successfully.
For PLA printing, supports are of the essence, and it is highly recommended to use supports on the build plate only.
