We are very pleased to release two new codes of mutated menaces for our 15mm post-apocalyptic range: the Radi-Ants and the Skunkeater. Although made for our post-apoc range, the are suitable for all sorts of gaming, and are perfectly suitable for 28mm gaming as well, being essentially "scaleless."
The Skunkeater appears to be a heavily mutated alligator with the appearance and mannerisms of a grizzly bear – although its "fur" is in fact downy feathers. This ravenous predator wanders the blasted landscape eating everything it can track down, aided by a long sticky tongue which it can extend to capture prey in the manner of the now-extinct Old World chameleon.
Skunks play a special role in the diet of the Skunkeater, as the name makes clear, for the creature stores the musk from skunks it consumes and can exude this to nauseate predators. In the wastelands, there are far larger and more terrifying predators than even the Skunkeater.
The model comes with two jaws – one with the tongue retracted, and the other extended. It even comes with a separate skunk (yes, a 15mm skunk at last), which you can attach to the extended tongue as shown, or depict scurrying away from the strange reptile pursuing it.
Even more menacing than the Skunkeater are the swarms of Radi-Ants – army ants mutated to enormous size by radiation, which sweep the landscape in search of prey. Workers find and carve up lifeforms for transportation back to the temporary bivouac of the hive, and the much larger and more powerful soldiers protect the workers and assist with especially-resistant prey.
A Note on the Radi-Ants – in order to make these fit into a two-part mold, the legs were sculpted and cast extending straight out from the body. The gamer can pose them with careful bending at the joints. It's important to be careful, of course, as too much pressure too quickly could snap the leg off. We will not be able to accept returns due to broken legs so bend carefully! If you have trouble with that sort of careful bending, these might not be for you.
All of these models were sculpted by Mike Lovejoy, and painted by Steve Dean. The human figurine is shown for scale only, and is available separately in the same range. These strange creatures are available now at the link below. Happy gaming!
